Academy Sports + Outdoors has launched the Grand Opening of their latest store in Southeast Florida, conveniently located in St. Lucie West next to the Publix in the Shoppes of St. Lucie West and around the bend from another SLW hotspot, Raising Cane's. The celebration kicked off Thursday, November 16 with a shopping spree for 30 local children who were a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Saint Lucie County. Each were given a $100 gift card, paired with an Academy representative or local police officer and given free rein to choose anything they wanted in the store. The local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club were gifted a check for an additional $3,000 for supplies.

On Friday morning, the ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the new store and early bird attendees were rewarded with mystery gift cards worth anywhere from $20 to $500. The first 150 customers in line over the opening weekend also had the opportunity to receive gift cards. The benefits continued inside with tons of great savings, giving attendees a head start on their holiday shopping .

Attendees were treated to great savings like 25% off all rods, reels and combos, 50% off all Magellan, Freely & BCG clothes, 25% off footwear and up to $400 off select items. There were also festivities for the whole family including family-friendly games, food trucks, a gel shooter station, a scavenger hunt, prizes (footballs, basketballs, tumblers, custom shirts, coolers) and pictures with Santa.
