When it comes to elegant lines and old world craftsmanship, you’d be hard pressed to find a better example of a modern boat company adhering to these standards more than Sheaffer Marine. For over three decades, Ben Sheaffer has been producing his classic 24-foot models for discerning coastal anglers who demand excellence.
More recently for 2022 their new S270 King Hybrid was introduced to allow expanded offshore capabilities while retaining the coastal fishability found on the 24. The 270 King Hybrid includes a raised foredeck and a high forward sweeping sheer line with the proud bow lines of an old classic. The line moving aft is lowered closer to the water level to more easily reach, land and release a fish- while offering a racier looking design profile.
The interior is framed 360-degrees by a comfortable bolster for fishability. Below the elevated forward casting deck are three compartments. A large, insulated fish box spans the width of the bow at the bulkhead and a pair of storage boxes are set forward. An anchor locker lies below the bow cap. At the foot of the forward console seat/drink cooler, an additional wet storage space is beneath your feet. A pair of large fish boxes are also included in the cockpit deck aft.
A helm station with seating for two offers rod storage and a large live well with a unique forward tilting top which completely exposes the top of the tank for complete access. A smaller door to remove a bait is located at the rear. A second live well is in the transom flanked by a pair of hatches that provide access to your pumps and hydraulics. Sheaffer smartly installs these items above the deck in the transom to prolong serviceability by keeping them out of a wet bilge compartment.

Beautiful finish work, top quality hardware, and attention to the smallest details are found in every inch of the S270 and the Sheaffer crew’s pride in building something special for each new owner is evident the instant you climb aboard. For anglers looking for that little something extra who know the difference, the S270 will not disappoint.

A roomy oval shaped transom livewell is conveniently placed in the least agitated point of the boat for keeping baits as healthy as possible. An elevated foredeck offers a better vantage point for sight fishing or throwing a cast net while the built in toe kick provides greater stability and footing. The Sheaffer S270 King Hybrid includes a comfortable bolster fully 360-degrees around the boat for total comfort. A total of five storage compartments are available beneath the raised deck including a large full width insulated fish box. An overhead electronics box is a good location to keep paperwork and legal documentation handy and dry. This center position helm and MFD placement puts the driver in the optimum location for unobstructed line of sight through a clean pipework design. In addition to a comfortable forward console seat, a large insulated drink cooler is located below. A molded compartment in the hard top aft is a handy spot to store PFDs and reach them quickly when you need one. A handy dash compartment on the helm surface provides convenient access to keys, wallets and phones if you need to get them out of the weather. The Sheaffer helm station offers comfortable seating or leaning for the helmsman and companion. Dry storage options are abundant within this large console interior while access to your electrical systems are easily within reach for service. A clever design for this large baitwell allows you to completely expose the interior for shaking a large cast net into as well as providing a traditional sized lid for catching a bait. A pair of long fish boxes in the cockpit deck are large enough for offshore pelagic species to fit easily within. Easy bilge systems access and a storage well for cast nets or cleaning supplies are located below in a pair of cockpit compartments.
