The LX26 is a solid performer built around the proven Sea Born step hull design delivering the same outstanding handling found in each of her LX model predecessors. This larger version simply raises the bar. Sporting twin Suzuki DF250s, she offered a top speed in the upper 50's while delivering just under 3 MPG efficiency at 3500 RPMs cruising at 34 MPH. The larger dimensions offered noticeable stability over the smaller models delivering the confident ride of a capable offshore center console.
The console and hardtop design present a clear view to the helmsman through a beautiful curved tempered glass windscreen. Under the two-tone Hard Top, Sea Born smartly brings the pipework into the console exterior rather than to deck, creating more space. The black underside and pipework do a good job of absorbing glare for the driver and both forward and aft facing LED Spotlight bars are a useful addition. Along the rear half of the hard top, a descending length of tubing follows the line of the top creating a handrail and anchor point for eight rod holders.
The helm glass display features a split Simrad IDS (Information Display System) customized to control functions unique to this Sea Born model with brand specific graphics. The XSF package also included Simrad 4G Broadband Radar and the SS75M CHIRP Transducer option. Helm seating includes side by side Llebroc Billfish Benches. Behind the seats are four rod holders which add to the additional nine rod holders across the transom and in the gunwales.
The cockpit offers plenty of work space and a wide bench seat that spans across the transom. The bench to port is split into a pair of hatches revealing a large bilge access and optional livewell at center. A 20-gallon livewell is located on the port transom corner. A side access Dive Door opens inward to starboard and operates on a magnum sized polished stainless hinge. In the bow, a wraparound U-shaped bench provides room for lounging and comfortable padded backrests. A pair of insulated fish boxes are located under both seats. The forward console seat doubles as an insulated drink cooler which can also be plumbed as a third livewell.
