From Press Release
United Waterfowlers-Florida along with co-sponsor the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are hosting the 2012 Florida Youth Outdoor Experience Day this coming Saturday, May 12. All folks interested in learning more about sustainable outdoor recreation such as duck hunting, alligator hunting, deer, hog and turkey hunting, fishing, trapping, the shooting sports such as archery, shotgun and .22, along with many other activities, should plan on attending this great event that's open to the public and free for all who attend.
Seminars conducted by experts in their fields will commence at 9 a.m. and each hour and & ½ hour thereafter until 4 p.m. (Hour lunch break at noon.)
Witness the audacity and intelligence of the retrievers at the duck hunting station as they work their rounds in and out of the water. Hear firsthand the reverberating gobbles of a tom turkey along with the purrs & clucks of a hen turkey. Experience the finesse and might needed to effectively deploy a real alligator hunting harpoon under the watchful eye of the “Gator Hunter of the South” and have your picture taken with a live alligator or ask questions with a noted FWC alligator biologist. Feel the richness and elegance of real animal hides, furs & pelts along with the attractants used to outwit a wily furbearer at the trapping station or experience the thrill of busting a clay pigeon in mid-air under the supervision on an NRA certified range master. All this plus much, much more is beckoning to simulate your senses and enrich your outlook upon outdoor recreational activities at this educational event.
Plan on attending! Youths (accompanied by an adult) youth groups, parents or interested adults are encouraged to attend. Please register at the link below. A complimentary lunch will be provided or bring your own and picnic on the shady grounds down by the lake. Camping is available RSVP via the FWC Youth Camp.
